About Merlin the magic black cat!
If you are looking for the kind of cat that keeps to itself, eats carefully and delicately, sits aloof in the corner and dismisses your calls with a swish of his tail, this is NOT the cat for you. Click away. There is nothing to see here!

Merlin wants little of you except your company. Oh, and food. ALL the food.
You will not entice this little man with a jingly toy or fake mouse, he will just rub up against you looking confused as to why you haven’t patted him yet.
If eating were an Olympic sport, there’d be more than a collar around his neck. However, in the morning he isn’t rudely persistent – he will stop by every 20-30 minutes to give you a prod and check if you’re interested in making his breakfast, and if not, he’ll have another nap to while away the time. In the evenings he will outright tell you it’s time for tea, but again, no pressure!
And snuggling. If you aren’t moving, you’re snuggling. Usually a low-key side snuggle, but if he’s got a full tummy you’re in for a dough-kneading, loud-purring, sitting in the middle of whatever you’re doing kind of snuggle.
If you’re a first-time cat owner, or a dog person looking to convert, this guy will steal your heart.
Medical notes
Merlin is a healthy raw fed cat. He came into the pound with a severe bite to one of his front legs which was very infected. As a result he has arthritis and we recommend he be kept on his herbal anti-inflammatories long term (very cost effective and without the side effects of vet anti-inflammatories). Merlin is desexed, microchipped (microchip # 956000010096818) and has had his first vaccination. He will require another vaccination to boost his immunity.

Adoption details
This organisation’s adoption policy is
To adopt a cat from Cat People you’ll be required to have a house check done, show 100 points of ID and fill out & sign an adoption contract.
Deposits are accepted to hold cats & kittens before adoption – this deposit is not refundable (instalment payments can be arranged with the coordinator to pre-approved adopters).
Cats from our group are all are vet checked, flea treated, wormed, vaccinated and desexed before being taken home by their adopters. Additionally, all of our cats have been evaluated for behavioural traits, fed a high-quality diet, and well socialised. Please note: all Cat People cats and kittens are indoor only, this is not negotiable.
Adoptions can be done with a two week foster to adopt arrangement for adult cats only.
We will communicate with you through every step of the adoption process to ensure that your experience (and the cat’s) is excellent and that you are confident in your decision to adopt a feline companion
Returns are only accepted due to health issues confirmed by a veterinarian.
